Trump-Xi Meeting Sparks Uncertainty for Nvidia and Boeing
The upcoming meeting between US President Trump and Chinese counterpart Xi at the White House has significant implications for two major US companies, Nvidia (NVDA) and Boeing (BA), as well as the broader market.
Nvidia's guidance already assumes zero China data center revenue, making any licensing deal a pure upside. The company's $5.53 trillion market cap means that a productive summit producing chip licenses and aircraft orders could move the S&P 500 by roughly one full percentage point.
Boeing, on the other hand, needs a signed order to move, which makes it a binary event. China committed to a Boeing order in May, but a wide-body follow-on is still pending. A signed order would be a significant sentiment booster for the stock, currently down 8.94% this year.
The absence of the word 'delivery' in the joint statement between Trump and Xi could signal that the event is noise for both stocks.
