Trump's AI Force Plan Hits Snag Over Name Similarity with Salesforce
President Trump has announced plans to establish an 'AI Force' to oversee and enforce artificial intelligence, but the name has already caused controversy due to its similarity with Salesforce's recent AI interface platform, AIforce.
The announcement comes as part of Trump's efforts to combat concerns around AI, which includes appointing a new 'czar' to oversee the technology. However, it appears that no one informed Trump about Salesforce's AIforce, which was unveiled at its Dreamforce 2026 event last year.
AIforce is described by Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff as 'really the most exciting thing I've ever seen for Salesforce,' and promises to unlock productivity and efficiency in the workplace through a new way of interfacing with data and AI.
In a post on his Truth Social site, Trump claimed that his administration will not hinder or stifle the growth of AI, but will instead 'cherish it, help it, and watch over it.' He also linked the idea of the AI Force to his creation of the Space Force, which he claims was a 'tremendous SUCCESS.'
