Trump's Portfolio Sees Heaviest Trading Spree Yet in July
President Donald Trump's investment accounts executed 1,156 securities transactions in July, marking a month of heavy portfolio reshuffling. According to his latest financial disclosure, these trades included unloading as much as $25 million each of Microsoft (MSFT) and Amazon (AMZN) stock.
The combined value of the purchases and sales ranged from roughly $79 million to $270 million, with buys totaling at least $43.6 million and sells coming to at least $35.6 million. The largest trades occurred on July 20, when accounts tied to the president sold between $5 million and $25 million of Microsoft shares and an equal range of Amazon stock.
The same day, the filing showed sales of $1 million to $5 million in Oracle (ORCL) alongside purchases of $500,001 to $1 million in Nvidia (NVDA). Just three days later, the accounts reversed course on a smaller scale, buying back $100,001 to $250,000 of Microsoft and $1,001 to $15,000 of Amazon.
The rapid-fire pattern underscores how actively the portfolio is managed. Heavy trading has become a defining feature of Trump's second term, with 1,051 transactions reported in June and over 21,000 trades across eight accounts holding at least $858 million in assets in his 2025 annual disclosure.
