Turkish Airlines Secures Major Boeing Deal Amid Fleet Expansion Plans

Turkish Airlines has finalized an agreement to purchase up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, marking a significant step in its long-term growth strategy. The order consists of 100 firm Boeing 737-8 aircraft and options for an additional 50 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. This deal also includes substitution rights for the Boeing 737-10, allowing Turkish Airlines to adjust capacity according to growing passenger demand across its network.

The agreement was finalized in the presence of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Türkiye. Turkish Airlines Chairman Prof Murat Şeker stated that this agreement is a significant step in expanding their fleet and will bring greater efficiency and flexibility to operations, supporting the extensive network served from Istanbul. The new aircraft will strengthen the flag carrier's short- and medium-haul operations, particularly on high-demand domestic and international routes.

The Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will offer reduced emissions and fuel consumption by 20% compared to previous models. This deal is a significant boost for Turkish Airlines' fleet expansion strategy and demonstrates its commitment to supporting Türkiye's aviation ecosystem.
