U.S. Stocks Close Lower Amid Sector-Wide Losses
The top performers on the S&P 500 included KKR & Co LP, Axon Enterprise Inc, and Jabil Circuit Inc, which rose 6.91%, 6.69%, and 5.94%, respectively. Meanwhile, Amentum Holdings LLC, Ventas Inc, and Honeywell International Inc were among the worst performers on the S&P 500, falling by 8.18%, 5.43%, and 5.27%.
On the NASDAQ Composite, WF International Ltd led the gainers with a massive 96.86% increase to $7.87. Quantum Corporation and Allied Esports Entertainment Inc also saw significant gains of 64.69% and 50.71%, respectively.
The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) fell by 1.16% to 15.28, indicating lower market volatility. In commodities trading, gold for December delivery rose 0.21% or $9.35 to $4,429.05 a troy ounce. Crude oil prices also increased, with Brent crude rising 1.56% or $1.28 to hit $83.41 a barrel, and WTI crude increasing by 1.61% or $1.41 to trade at $89.13 a barrel.
