UBS Buys into Renk Group as Goldman Sachs Sees Bright Future
UBS has taken a significant stake in Renk Group, a gearbox specialist based in Augsburg. According to a voting rights notification, UBS held a direct 1.10% position and a further 3.98% through financial instruments as of September 16, crossing the 5% reporting threshold. This move comes after Goldman Sachs upgraded its rating on Renk stock from 'Neutral' to 'Buy', setting a price target of EUR 65.
The upgrade brought relief to Renk's share price, which had been under pressure for much of the summer. On Wednesday, the shares touched a new twelve-month low of EUR 40.91, but after the Goldman Sachs recommendation, they climbed 5.5% on Friday to close at EUR 42.39.
The company has reported strong operating performance, with revenue up 2.7% to EUR 637 million in the first half of 2026 and adjusted operating profit reaching just over EUR 98 million. The order backlog stands at a record EUR 7.4 billion, driven by military demand that is keeping production capacity booked out for many quarters ahead.
