United Airlines' 737 MAX 10 Problem Hits Seven-Year Mark
United Airlines is facing a cabin pressure issue with its upcoming delivery of the Boeing 737-10, which has been delayed for over seven years.
The airline had originally planned to deploy the aircraft on high-yielding transcontinental routes and fit it with lie-flat premium seating in 2020, but the certification process has taken longer than expected.
As a result, United Airlines has had to hold a large batch of lie-flat seats intended for the 737-10 without immediate use, as the aircraft delivery and production have not transpired as planned.
The airline's chief executive, Scott Kirby, said that with such a large number of seats, they were useless because they did not fit other aircraft.
