United Expands Premium 787-9 Deployment This Winter

United Airlines is expanding its use of the premium-heavy Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner this winter, adding two new routes to the aircraft's schedule during the holiday travel period.

The 222-seat 787-9 will operate daily on the San Francisco-Houston route from October 25 through December 15, and then shift to San Francisco-Sydney service on December 2, initially operating three times per week before increasing to daily operations from December 17 through February 10, 2027.

The aircraft's configuration features a larger premium cabin with more Polaris business class seats, Premium Plus seats, and fewer economy seats. This allows United to increase its premium capacity on key routes during peak demand periods.
