US Consumer Product Safety Commission Issues Recalls for Over 500,000 Products
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a list of product recalls, including squishy toys, rechargeable hand warmers, and electronic balloon pumps.
Twelve new recalls were published on October 1, with blind box squishy dumpling toys being the first to be mentioned. ABC Trading recalled over 37,000 Squishy Dumpling Toys and Crazy Squib Ball Toys due to water beads inside the toys expanding larger than permitted, posing a choking hazard.
Another recall was issued for Mochi Malrang Mystery Dumpling Toys by LLK Trading, which contained 480 units sold at Easy Wholesale in San Jose, California. These toys also posed a choking hazard when the water beads expanded beyond their intended size.
Other recalls include magnetic stick figure toy sets that can release loose magnets, posing an ingestion hazard, and two types of electronic rechargeable hand warmers from Gobi Heat and Kobayashi due to burn and fire hazards. Over 360,000 electronic balloon pumps sold at Dollar Tree were also recalled due to overheating.
The affected products were sold at various retailers, including Amazon, Target, The Home Depot, and Dollar Tree. Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled items and contact the parent company for a full refund.
