US Stock Futures Edge Higher Amid Escalating Middle East Tensions
US stock futures edged higher overnight ahead of a key earnings week, despite escalating tensions in the Middle East. The Nasdaq-100 futures climbed 0.45%, Dow futures rose 0.04%, and S&P 500 futures increased 0.14% at 9:11 PM EDT.
Some notable companies set to report their second-quarter results this week include Alphabet, Tesla, Intel, General Motors, AT&T, International Business Machines, ServiceNow, and Verizon Communications. Additionally, airline companies such as Southwest Airlines and American Airlines will also release quarterly results.
Tensions in the Middle East have escalated over the weekend, with the US launching its ninth consecutive strike on Iran late Sunday. Oil prices soared amid the flare-up of conflict between the two nations, rising above $90 a barrel.
