US Stocks Decline Amid Sector-Wide Losses
U.S. equities closed lower on Tuesday, with losses in key sectors contributing to the decline.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 0.25%, while the S&P 500 dropped 0.16% and the NASDAQ Composite shed 0.09%.
Among the biggest gainers on the Dow were Boeing Co., which rose 1.78% to $187.68, Amgen Inc., up 1.31% to $423.62, and Caterpillar Inc., which gained 0.82% to $826.64.
The top performers on the S&P 500 included Carnival Corporation, which surged 13.41%, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., up 7.45%, and Applied Materials Inc., gaining 5.16%.
