The US stock market concluded its week on August 24-29 with a mixed performance. The Nasdaq Composite index led the way, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) and S&P 500 struggled to keep pace.

Nvidia's earnings report on Thursday weighed heavily on the tech-heavy index, causing shares to drop 5% despite beating Q2 expectations. AMD and Broadcom also declined by 2% and nearly 1%, respectively. However, other tech giants like Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, and Alphabet bucked the trend, with gains ranging from 1.5% to over 15%.

Kevin Warsh's speech at the Jackson Hole summit on Friday added to market volatility, as he emphasized the importance of clear market signals for the Federal Reserve. He noted that recent commodity price increases are a concern and could indicate upside inflation risks.

Despite the mixed performance, all three major indices recorded weekly gains, with the Nasdaq Composite outperforming its counterparts by 1.3%.
