US Stocks Plummet as Key Sectors Drag Down Gains
US stocks closed lower on Wednesday as losses in key sectors weighed down shares. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.21%, while the S&P 500 index lost 0.02% and the NASDAQ Composite dropped 0.08%. Honeywell International Inc led gainers, rising 2.31% to $220.67. Nike Inc was among the biggest losers, plummeting 2.25% to a five-year low of $38.59.
The S&P 500's top performers included Arista Networks, which surged 5.92% to $202.25, and CH Robinson Worldwide Inc, up 5.62% at $151.73. The NASDAQ Composite's best performers were Cre8 Enterprise Ltd, gaining 162.93% to $6.81, and YY Group Holding Ltd, rising 85.65% to $2.13.
Oil prices saw a mixed performance, with futures for December delivery down 1.05% at $4,645.00 per troy ounce. The EUR/USD exchange rate remained relatively stable, unchanged at 0.18%, while the USD/JPY rose 0.09% to 159.32.
