The US stock market continued its upward trajectory on Tuesday, reaching new records despite concerns about high inflation and geopolitical tensions. The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged by over 907 points, or 1.7%, to reach a record high of $54,085.88.

Meanwhile, the S&P 500 index rose 1.8% to top its prior all-time high set just a couple months ago. The Nasdaq composite also saw significant gains, increasing by 2.6%. Palantir Technologies and Caterpillar were among the key drivers of these gains, with their stock prices jumping 29.5% and 5.6%, respectively.

The rally in stocks was also fueled by a drop in oil prices, which fell 5.3% to $79.36 per barrel. This decline eased concerns about inflation and helped to reduce pressure on the overall economy and stock prices.
