Venezuela Deal Signings Imminent for Chevron, GE Vernova, ONGC, Eni, GeoPark
Several major energy companies are nearing final agreements to sign deals in Venezuela after months of negotiations. The agreements include Chevron, GE Vernova from India, ONGC from India, Italy's Eni, and Colombia's GeoPark. These firms have been working on energy projects in the country.
The signing of these agreements could happen as early as this week. They are separate from a recent deal announced between Venezuela and the US, which involves the latter investing in 17 oilfields with approximately 64 billion barrels of proved reserves. This represents about one-fifth of Venezuela's total crude reserves.
Eni has stated that it is working with its Venezuelan counterparts and other authorities to support the revival of the country's energy sector. Chevron, GE Vernova, ONGC, and GeoPark did not respond immediately to requests for comment.
