Venezuela Energy Deals Nearing Finalization
Several major energy companies are close to finalizing agreements in Venezuela after months of negotiations. These deals will solidify energy projects in the OPEC country, a significant development for its economy.
The companies involved include U.S.-based Chevron and GE Vernova, India's ONGC, Italy's Eni, and Colombia's GeoPark. According to sources close to the preparations, these agreements are expected to be signed as early as this week.
It is worth noting that these agreements are separate from a major pact announced last week between Caracas and Washington. This deal involved the U.S. securing a stake in 17 oilfields with approximately 64 billion barrels of proved reserves, roughly one-fifth of Venezuela's total crude reserves.
