Veteran Computer Automation Expert Ronald Hogan Passes Away at 89

Ronald Hogan, an Air Force veteran and computer automation expert, passed away on September 29, 2026, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, New York. He was 89 years old.

Hogan graduated from Troy High School in 1954 and Russell Sage College in 1973. After serving in the Air Force from 1955 to 1964, he worked as an operating room technician at Albany Medical Center Hospital and the Albany Medical College.

In 1967, Hogan began working for IBM in Kingston, New York, as a computer operator. He later moved to the Watervliet Arsenal, where he held various positions, including Director of Information Systems. Hogan was also an officer in the Federal Managers Association and retired from federal service in 1994.

A visitation will be held on October 8 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals in Watervliet, with a burial to follow on October 9 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
