Veteran Fred Silvestri Passes Away Aged 94

Mr. Fred Silvestri, a 94-year-old resident of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21st, 2026, at his residence.

Silvestri was born on March 10th, 1932, in Ellwood City to Oddone and Gulia (Mariotti) Silvestri. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1950 and later became a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church.

Silvestri served in the United States Air Force from May 1st, 1951 to April 30th, 1955, earning the Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal. After his service, he worked for Honeywell, Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill, and Philco.

Silvestri is survived by his wife Loretta (Barry) Silvestri, whom he married on April 28th, 1956, as well as their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. A private cremation arrangement was entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., with inurnment to follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
