Victoria County reviews tax abatement for Bo/Gar expansion plan
Victoria County Commissioners Court voted unanimously to review a tax abatement application from Bo/Gar Enterprises Inc., which plans to invest nearly $800,000 in manufacturing equipment and facility upgrades. The expansion at the company’s facility at 5416 SW Moody St. aims to boost operations and add six to seven full-time jobs. Bo/Gar currently employs 12 people and aims to grow its workforce to 20 by January 1, 2027.
The company, a global Tier 1 supplier, relocated to Victoria in 2022, drawn partly by Caterpillar’s presence and other manufacturers like JCB. The proposed tax abatement, a four-year phased incentive, aligns with county guidelines for retention projects. Commissioners emphasized the need for thorough review before considering the request.
Bo/Gar President Jon Knoblauch highlighted in an August 5 support letter that the investment would enhance production capacity, operational efficiency, and business opportunities. The incentives, he noted, would help accelerate the project’s economic impact in Victoria County.
In other business, commissioners approved agreements for the Bloomington Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project, victim assistance grants, and a service agreement with NetProtec LLC for video magistrate services.
