Visa Reports Record Q3 Revenue Amid Job Cuts and Restructuring Charges
Visa Inc., the San Francisco-based payments giant, reported strong fiscal third-quarter results on July 28. The company's quarterly net revenue of $11.63 billion marked a 14% increase from $10.17 billion in the same quarter a year earlier and exceeded analyst expectations.
The payment processor's earnings for the period amounted to $3.32 per share, up 11% from a year prior and above estimates of $3.23 per share. CEO Ryan McInerney stated that Visa delivered a strong fiscal third quarter due to resilient consumer spending and continued expansion in international transaction volumes.
Visa's operational metrics remained healthy across all core divisions, with global payments volume growing 10% year-over-year on a constant-dollar basis and total cross-border volume expanding 13%. However, the company recorded significant restructuring charges, including a $563 million pre-tax special item in severance costs due to workforce reductions.
