Visa Soars After Trump's Investment Accounts Buy Millions in Stock
Visa's stock price is on the rise after President Donald Trump's investment accounts disclosed a significant purchase of Visa shares in June. According to a financial disclosure, Trump's accounts made over 1,000 separate trades adding up to between $78.1 million and $263.1 million during that month, with a notable stake added in Visa.
The trades were reported by CNBC, which found that Trump's accounts trimmed their holdings in Meta and Motorola on June 18, but put the same amount into Visa, Berkshire Hathaway, Cintas, and Mastercard on the same day.
Visa's technical picture also suggests a strong uptrend. The stock is trading above its major trend lines, including the 20-day, 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day averages. Momentum indicators are also bullish, with the MACD line above its signal line and a positive histogram.
However, traders should be cautious as Visa has pushed past its prior 52-week high of $373.97, and a failed attempt to hold this breakout could send the stock sliding back down towards its rising short-term averages.
