Visa Stock Jumps 2.67 Percent on Football Team Partnerships and Stablecoin Growth
Visa Inc. saw its stock price rise to EUR 329.15 in after-hours trading on October 5, 2026, representing a 2.67 percent increase from the prior close of EUR 320.58. The uptick came as the payment giant announced a series of new and renewed partnerships with professional football teams across the United States.
The company expanded its portfolio to include new deals with the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Commanders, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, and Philadelphia Eagles. Additionally, Visa renewed long-term agreements with the San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, and Pittsburgh Steelers, bringing its total team relationships to 13.
These partnerships aim to enhance game-day experiences, support community programs, and drive commerce initiatives throughout the 2026 season. Visa plans to leverage these relationships to connect clients and merchants with various commerce moments, including travel, ticketing, dining, merchandise, and entertainment.
In a separate update, Visa highlighted significant activity in stablecoin-linked card programs. Approximately 17 percent of stablecoin-linked card volume in fiscal 2026 year-to-date occurred across business and commercial card programs. The company supports over 160 stablecoin-linked card programs, with payments volume across these programs growing nearly 200 percent year over year.
