Wall Street Heavyweights Back DroneShield Amid Revenue Guidance Cut
DroneShield's recent struggles to restore investor confidence have been met with significant institutional investment from Wall Street heavyweights. JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup, two prominent financial institutions, have both acquired substantial stakes in DroneShield, holding approximately 6.68% and 5.6853% of the company's shares respectively.
The timing of these acquisitions is notable, occurring just a week after DroneShield revised its full-year guidance downward to between $250-270 million Australian dollars. This move was largely attributed to margin compression and sales mix issues, which saw the company's gross margin slip five percentage points in the first half.
However, despite this setback, DroneShield continues to secure major contracts, including a 23.2 million Australian dollar deal with an unnamed European military customer for vehicle-mounted counter-drone systems. This order book visibility is expected to last beyond the current reporting period.
