Stocks on Wall Street traded in a mixed manner on Wednesday and continued to hover near record levels, despite some concerns about overvaluation. The S&P 500 index closed at 7,723.55 after falling by 12.97 points, or 0.2%, from the previous day's close. This comes after the index reached a new high on Tuesday.

The Dow Jones industrial Average rose by 263.24 points, or 0.5%, to 54,349.12, reaching another record high. However, the Nasdaq fell by 221.55 points, or 0.8%, to 26,363.44 due in part to declines in big technology companies such as Alphabet and Microsoft.

The market has been experiencing rising corporate profits and expectations for further growth, which have contributed to its upward momentum. However, some analysts are concerned about the valuation of stocks, particularly in the technology sector and artificial intelligence-focused companies.
