Walmart's CEO John Furner recently pledged that his company will not use personalized pricing, which involves charging customers different prices based on their income, shopping history, or moment of need.

The pledge was made in a public letter on September 25 and came after the Federal Trade Commission closed comments on its proposal targeting undisclosed personalized pricing.

Shares of Walmart (WMT) rose slightly to $107.98 that day, but the bigger test for the stock is its fight for marketplace sellers, which the company detailed in its investor relations materials.
