Walmart (NASDAQ: WMT) will pay a dividend of $0.24 per share on January 4, 2027, to shareholders of record as of December 11, 2026. The dividend currently yields 0.8%, which is relatively low compared to other consumer goods stocks like Coca-Cola (2.2%), Procter & Gamble (2.6%), and Nike (4.2%). However, the real value of Walmart lies not in its dividend yield but in its long-term business model and technological advancements.

The company has increased its dividend for 53 consecutive years, earning it the title of Dividend King. This consistency reflects a strong business model that has weathered various economic challenges over the past 50 years. Walmart's ability to adapt and grow through technological innovations makes it a compelling long-term investment.

Walmart is leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance sales. Its AI shopping agent, Sparky, saw a 70% increase in users compared to the prior-year period, with those users spending 40% more per order. Additionally, Walmart has expanded its drone delivery service, reaching the 1 million delivery mark on May 29, 2026. The global drone delivery market is projected to grow from $5 billion in 2026 to nearly $21 billion by 2034.

Walmart's membership program, Walmart+, is also gaining traction. The company reported a high in net additions and a 17% increase in membership fee revenue. Despite a volatile trading year, with a 52-week high of $135.16 and a low of $98.88, Walmart's stock price is up 18.4% over the last month, positioning it for a strong close to 2026.
