Walt Disney World and Boys & Girls Clubs Launch Disney Dreamers Program
Walt Disney World Resort and Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida recently celebrated the first group of Disney Dreamers in Central Florida. On October 1st, 50 students from the region were selected as part of the inaugural class of 200 Disney Dreamers chosen from Boys & Girls Clubs in Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, and Houston. These students will begin a multi-year program in 2027, focusing on mentorship, career exploration, leadership development, and immersive experiences both in their local communities and at Walt Disney World Resort.
The collaboration aims to expose young people to new opportunities and inspire them to dream beyond their current circumstances. Jamie Merrill, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, emphasized the program's potential to change lives and create lasting impact. "Programs like this create the exposure and opportunities that help our young people dream beyond their circumstances and see new possibilities for their future," Merrill said.
Disney Dreamers Academy, a long-standing youth development program by Walt Disney World, has been inspiring students for nearly two decades. The new partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs is expected to empower even more young people through transformative experiences and mentorship.
