Disney and Boys & Girls Clubs Launch New Disney Dreamers Program
Walt Disney World Resort and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida celebrated the selection of 50 local students as the first Disney Dreamers on October 1st. These students are part of the inaugural class of 200 Disney Dreamers chosen from Boys & Girls Clubs in Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, and Houston. The program, set to begin in 2027, will offer mentorship, career exploration, leadership development, and immersive experiences at Walt Disney World Resort and in the students' communities.
Jamie Merrill, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, emphasized the program's potential to inspire young people to dream beyond their circumstances. "Programs like this create the exposure and opportunities that help our young people dream beyond their circumstances and see new possibilities for their future," Merrill said. He also highlighted Disney's investment as a force for lasting community impact.
Disney Dreamers Academy, a long-standing youth development program by Walt Disney World, has been inspiring students for nearly two decades. The new collaboration with Boys & Girls Clubs aims to expand this mission by providing transformative experiences and mentorship to even more young people.
