Weight Watchers Soars on Google Health Partnership
Weight Watchers (NASDAQ:WW) is working with Google Health Enterprise to integrate wearable data and AI-powered health insights into some employer and payer weight-management programs.
The collaboration, announced Tuesday, allows eligible members of select Weight Watchers for Business programs access to Fitbit Air and Google Health Premium after meeting specific activity and participation milestones.
Connecting their Fitbit Air devices to their Weight Watchers accounts, users can track activity, sleep, and other health signals alongside their weight-management progress.
The added data is designed to help members build daily habits and stay engaged over time, according to WW Chief Commercial Officer Scott Honken.
This partnership comes as employers and health plans face higher obesity-related costs and growing demand for GLP-1 drug coverage, with Morgan Stanley expecting the global GLP-1 market to reach $190 billion by 2035, more than double its estimated size in 2025.
