Wellness Project Launches Google Health Integration Ahead of Fitbit API Sunset

The Wellness Project has launched a direct integration with Google's new Health API, providing users of Fitbit and Pixel Watch devices with an easy way to sync their wearable data into a single, AI-ready health record.

This move comes ahead of Google's planned September 2026 retirement of the legacy Fitbit Web API, which requires developers to migrate to Google Health and meet new security requirements.

The Wellness Project's integration addresses this transition by establishing a verified pipeline that meets Google's restricted-scope requirements, allowing users to import data from their wearable devices without interruption.

In addition to syncing data, the platform also features Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration, which enables users to securely connect their longitudinal health profiles directly to frontier AI models, including ChatGPT and Claude.
