Whitesboro Resident Annette Eckert Passes Away at 88
Annette M. Eckert, an 88-year-old resident of Whitesboro, NY, passed away on September 17, 2026, at Wynn Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Akron, NY on April 27, 1938, to Michael and Felicia Mattie, Annette grew up in a devout Catholic household. She graduated from Akron High School and attended the IBM Business School before marrying Thomas N. Eckert in 1958.
Annette worked as a data entry clerk at Rome Cable and later as a residence aide at United Cerebral Palsy in Marcy, NY, retiring in 2015. In her free time, she enjoyed participating in senior groups' activities, traveling to visit her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and using FaceTime to stay connected with loved ones who lived far away.
Annette's family extends their gratitude to the ICU Nurses, Doctors, and staff at Wynn Hospital for their compassionate care. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on October 26, 2026, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Whitesboro, followed by interment in St. Peter's Cemetery.
