Why Nvidia Trumps SpaceX as a Smart Investment Choice
Nvidia and SpaceX are two of the most valuable companies in the world, both central to the AI boom. However, when it comes to deciding which one to buy, Nvidia stands out as a more attractive option.
One reason for this is the price: SpaceX went public with a valuation of nearly $2 trillion, trading at around 100 times sales and a market cap of nearly $2 trillion. After its initial public offering, the stock has remained relatively stable, trading at roughly the same price it opened on the market, $150.
Nvidia, on the other hand, is growing just as fast as SpaceX but with a much more profitable business and a lower valuation. Nvidia's revenue grew by 106% in the second quarter, with an operating margin of 66%. The company is expected to reach annual revenue of $1 trillion as soon as 2028 (fiscal 2029), despite its price-to-earnings ratio being relatively low at 28.5.
Another key factor is that SpaceX's success is closely tied to Nvidia, with the two companies being close partners. Nvidia owns 122.8 million shares of SpaceX, worth around $20 billion, and SpaceX has committed to exclusively using Nvidia chips across its business. This means that Nvidia can benefit from SpaceX's growth in AI, making it a more attractive option for investors.
