Wi-Fi 7 is gaining traction in both consumer and enterprise markets. According to Ookla, Wi-Fi 7 adoption grew by 4x year-over-year, reaching 7.2% of Speedtest users in Q1 2026 in the United States.

This growth comes from the deployment of new networking equipment by ISPs as well as increasing support on end-user devices such as laptops and smartphones.

Ookla's data also shows that usage of the 6 GHz spectrum frequency band increased by 62% from Q1 2025 to Q1 2026, accounting for 13.8% of Speedtest samples in the U.S.

Wi-Fi 7 adoption is expected to accelerate rapidly in the future as more customers upgrade their equipment and networks.

In the enterprise market, IDC reports that 60% of global enterprise WLAN spending is now directed towards Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7, with Cisco, HPE, Huawei, and Ubiquiti being the top players in this space.

Ubiquiti recently reported quarterly revenues of $937M compared to $759M a year prior, a 23% increase, while Cisco's quarterly revenue grew by 18% from $14.7B to $17.3B.
