Williams Trading Cuts Dick's Sporting Goods Price Target Amid Foot Locker Woes
Financial analysts at Williams Trading have downgraded their price target on Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS) to $130 from $215, while maintaining a Hold rating. The current stock price is $130.79, a decline of 27.7% over the past week and 35.6% over six months.
The firm cited challenges at Foot Locker, which posted a comparable sales decline of 3.6% in the second quarter of 2026, falling short of consensus estimates by 1.9 percentage points. An overabundance of basic core lifestyle shoes from brands like Nike (NKE), Adidas, and New Balance is said to be hurting the Foot Locker business.
Williams Trading stated that Dick's Sporting Goods management and Foot Locker leadership do not understand Foot Locker consumers as well as they understand Dick's Sporting Goods consumers. The firm also noted that the President of Foot Locker North America has no experience leading multi-branded retail, despite years of experience at Nike.
