Microsoft has issued a reminder that Windows Server 2022 will reach the end of mainstream support on October 13, 2026. This announcement comes exactly thirty days in advance, giving administrators time to prepare for the shift to extended support.

During this phase, Windows Server 2022 will continue to receive free monthly security updates through October 14, 2031. However, new features and non-security fixes will no longer be provided. Microsoft's Fixed Lifecycle Policy states that there will be no additional fees for this transition.

One exception is the hotpatch support for Windows Server 2022 Datacenter: Azure Edition, which will continue through October 2027. Systems enrolled in this program will receive monthly security updates without requiring a reboot.
