Witness Denies Knowing Where Missing Gun Is in Murder-for-Hire Trial
A trial in the murder-for-hire of Microsoft executive Jared Bridegan has taken an interesting turn. The defense is pointing fingers at a witness who claimed to have surrendered all his guns, including a 10mm Glock firearm, after being ordered to do so by the authorities. However, this gun matches the description of the one used to kill Bridegan.
The prosecution called John Biggerstaff, a former police officer and longtime friend of the defendant Mario Fernandez Saldana, to testify on Monday. Biggerstaff pleaded guilty to unrelated nonviolent crimes in 2016 and had to surrender all his weapons, including the 10mm Glock firearm. He claimed that he and his son worked together to submit an affidavit listing 20 weapons they removed from his house.
However, when questioned by the prosecution about where the missing gun was now, Biggerstaff replied 'I have no idea.' His son Juan also testified, saying that he took some of the guns for himself and left the others in a gun locker at the home of one of their father's friends. However, he denied knowing where the 10mm weapon was.
