Word Update Causes PDF Saving Issues for Some Users

Microsoft has acknowledged an issue affecting users of its Word application after a recent update. Users attempting to save files as PDFs in Word may find that their files are saved in incorrect locations or with random file names.

The problem specifically affects users who save files to SharePoint locations, and Microsoft has provided a workaround for the time being. According to the company's support document, after updating to version 2609 (16.0.20430.x), users may encounter an issue where they cannot save Word documents as PDFs to SharePoint Online locations.

No error is presented when attempting to save files, but instead, the file is saved to a specific folder with a random name.
