WZ and Home Depot Deepen Partnership Through Shared Learning and Curiosity
WZ, a training organization for asset protection professionals, has strengthened its partnership with The Home Depot through shared values and continuous learning. At WZ, core values provide the foundation for how the organization shows up every day, shapes decisions, interacts, and makes an impact. This philosophy is reflected at The Home Depot, where building strong relationships is a practical operating principle that shapes how AP teams engage with associates, store leaders, law enforcement, peer retailers, and industry partners.
The long-standing partnership between WZ and The Home Depot has transformed what began as a training relationship into a collaborative exchange of ideas, field experience, and shared learning. Through conversations that go beyond the curriculum, the two organizations have developed a deeper understanding of each other's realities and challenges.
One such opportunity for learning arose during a 'ride-along' with The Home Depot AP team in Chicago. Four WZ instructors had the chance to observe the complexity of asset protection work in a live retail environment, stepping outside the classroom to gain new insights and perspectives. They saw firsthand how effective asset protection is built through relationships, trust, and credibility developed over time.
The experience left the WZ team inspired, taking away new insights, fresh perspectives, and a greater appreciation for the realities of today's retail environment. The ride-along reinforced that growth starts with curiosity, having the opportunity to observe, ask questions, and seek to understand others' perspectives grew their own understanding.
