Xbox Cloud Gaming Introduces Hourly Limits for Xbox Game Pass Subscribers
Xbox Cloud Gaming will soon have hourly limits on its streaming service for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. The change is set to take effect in November, and users will be limited to either 5 hours per month with 50+ games (Essential tier), 10 hours per month with 200+ games (Premium tier), or 15 hours per month with 400+ games and day-one Xbox titles (Ultimate tier).
The hourly limits are part of Microsoft's plan to manage the cost of providing cloud gaming, which grows as more people use it and play for longer. The company expects this change to impact around 4% of Game Pass subscribers.
Once users reach their included hours, they can purchase additional cloud playtime through the XBOX Store. These extra hours will not expire if purchased in advance.
