This news comes after TCL initially announced at the start of the year that the Xbox Game Pass app would be coming to its TVs with Google TV. While it's common for new Google TV apps to first appear on TCL devices, they usually become available on other Google TV devices soon after.

There is speculation that Amazon may have a one-year exclusivity deal with Microsoft for the Android version of its smart TV app. This would mean that Amazon's Fire TV smart TVs had access to the app first, and it became available on TCL's Google TVs just in time to match Microsoft's vague release timeline.
