xMentium and Microsoft Unveil AI-Ready Data Sharing in Fabric
xMentium, a company that specializes in document intelligence, has announced its integration with IQ sharing in Microsoft Fabric. This partnership enables customers to access structured data from their unstructured documents, making it available for use across various business units and partner ecosystems within the OneLake tenant.
The integration uses xMentium's Document Intelligence platform to extract data from complex documents, transforming them into AI-ready knowledge assets that can be easily discovered in the OneLake Catalog. This eliminates the need for specialized connectors, custom pipelines, and extensive curation, making it a more efficient process for enterprise intelligence.
IQ sharing in Fabric removes the barrier of extracting valuable enterprise data from unstructured sources, allowing customers to build a curated, continuously refreshed layer of structured intelligence from their own documents. This capability is particularly useful for capital-intensive industries, where major investment and project decisions are often based on buried information in engineering documents, technical drawings, and operational records.
xMentium's Vice President, Mike Kochanik, noted that traditional AI approaches fail at the retrieval step when unable to identify the right document, version, or table. The xMentium integration with IQ sharing in Fabric addresses this issue by providing structured, governed data from their extraction pipeline as zero-copy assets.
Microsoft's Vice President, Dipti Borkar, emphasized that IQ sharing in Fabric is about meeting customers where their data already lives and letting them bring more of it into OneLake without moving or copying it. xMentium helps organizations put their entire data estate to work for analytics and AI by turning unstructured documents into a structured, AI-ready data shared seamlessly via IQ Share.
