Yeti Roars Back to Life Inside Disney's Expedition Everest
At D23: The Ultimate Fan Event presented by Visa, an announcement was made that will bring back to life the Yeti inside Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Chairman Thomas Mazloum interrupted Neil Patrick Harris on stage, stating 'We're bringing the Yeti back to life inside Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom!'
The news was met with cheers from the crowd, and Gloria Gaynor even performed a disco hit, 'I Will Survive', as a tribute to the lovable yeti. The ride, which features a nearly 200-foot Forbidden Mountain, has been revamped to include more evidence of the mysterious guardian of the mountain.
The queue for Expedition Everest now includes a trailside museum featuring sketches of sightings and a footprint mold of a giant yeti foot. During the high-speed ride, guests will notice torn train tracks and other signs of the yeti's presence, inspired by the northwest face of Mount Everest and geological elements found in Tibet and Nepal.
