YouTubers Can Now Tag Amazon Products Directly in Videos
YouTubers can now tag Amazon products directly in their videos using the YouTube Shopping affiliate program, announced by EcommerceBytes. This new feature allows creators to tag products from a selection of Amazon items or use auto-tagging, where YouTube reviews recent uploads to identify and tag eligible Amazon products.
Content creators must have a fully monetized channel on YouTube and join the YouTube Shopping program before connecting their Amazon Associates/Influencer account. This enables them to generate clickable links to Amazon products above the video description or within the video using timestamps.
However, some users are skeptical about the benefits of this new feature. One commenter pointed out that the process is complex and the conversion rates for these links are low, citing a 7% conversion rate on Facebook compared to 'practically nil' on YouTube.
