Zillow Escapes Lawsuit Over Microsoft Browser Tracking Tech
A Washington federal judge has dismissed a proposed class action lawsuit against Zillow, claiming that the real estate website used Microsoft's browser tracking software to share users' website activity with third parties.
The plaintiffs had alleged that Zillow used Microsoft's Session Replay technology, which captures user interactions on websites, without disclosing this practice to its users.
However, the judge ruled that the plaintiffs failed to prove that Zillow had engaged in any wrongdoing and did not provide sufficient evidence of harm caused by the use of the Session Replay technology.
