Asian Markets Mixed Amid Oil Price Volatility and US Bond Market Pressure
Asian markets were mixed in early Thursday trading as investors digested recent swings in oil prices and US bond market activity.
The Nikkei 225 index gained 1.3% to 65,883.41, driven by a boost from interest in artificial intelligence among chipmakers.
Australia's S&P/ASX 200 fell 0.7% to 8,700.50, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 0.5% to 24,715.95 and the Shanghai Composite dipped 0.8% to 3,902.33.
Oil prices remained under pressure, with US crude falling 0.82% to $91.40 a barrel and Brent crude losing 0.83% to $102.22 a barrel.
