The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has raised gold prices for the second time this month, increasing the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 1,691 per bhori to Tk 2,34,621, including VAT.

This change affects all jewellery shops in the country, with new rates coming into effect from 10am on Saturday. One bhori (11.664 grammes) of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 2,24,065 per bhori, while 18-carat and traditional-method gold have been priced at Tk 1,92,398 and Tk 1,57,172 respectively.

The new prices will remain effective until further notice, with labour charges applicable depending on the design of the jewellery. It's worth noting that VAT is included in the selling price of gold and silver jewellery, and jewellers cannot collect VAT separately from customers.
