Black Sea Grain Trade Shifts as Regional Flows Continue to Change

The Balkans and Black Sea Grain Conference 2026 brought together industry professionals from over 30 countries to discuss changing dynamics in grain trade across the region.

Key insights from the conference highlighted significant export potential for Serbia, with wheat exports projected to reach 2 million tonnes, corn exports expected to rise to 1.35 million tonnes, and barley exports set to increase to 190,000 tonnes.

Türkiye's grain outlook is expected to see a significant increase in production for wheat and barley, but a decline in corn production that will remain dependent on imports.

Egypt's wheat demand remains unaffected by disruptions in Black Sea supplies, with the country still needing to import 11.5 million tonnes this season.
