Canada and France Explore LNG Partnership Amid Global Energy Tensions

Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand discussed a potential energy collaboration with France that would involve liquefied natural gas (LNG) sourced from Canada's Pacific shoreline. The conversation came after a meeting between leaders of the two nations, where they talked about energy cooperation.

Anand noted that it is plausible for Canada to carry out an energy partnership with a European nation using LNG shipped from its western coast, which also applies to France. She made these remarks during an interview on the sidelines of the United Nations summit.

French President Emmanuel Macron has repeatedly urged closer energy ties with Canada as Europe seeks to broaden its supply sources amid disruptions tied to Middle East conflict and climbing energy costs.
