Canada Corn Exports Soar as Soybean Shipments Plummet
Canada's corn exports have seen a significant surge in the current marketing year (MY) 2026/27. According to data from the Canadian Grain Commission, since the start of the season, corn exports reached 68 thousand tons, a whopping five times higher than the same period last season when the country exported only 11.6 thousand tons.
This increase is evident in the latest reporting week ending September 20, with shipments totaling 8.8 thousand tons, compared to zero exports a week earlier. In contrast, Canadian soybean exports have declined sharply, falling by 79.6% since the start of the season to 17.7 thousand tons, from 86.6 thousand tons in the same period last year.
Corn deliveries from producers have also seen an uptick, increasing by 8.1% to 92.9 thousand tons, compared to 85.9 thousand tons last year. Soybean deliveries, on the other hand, have dropped by a significant 70.3% to 10 thousand tons, down from 33.7 thousand tons in the same period last season.
