Chennai Gold Prices Plummet by Rs 800 Per Sovereign

Gold prices in Chennai have dropped by Rs 800 per sovereign on October 3. The current price is Rs 1,09,400 per sovereign and Rs 13,675 per gram. This decrease of Rs 100 per gram comes after the gold price was at Rs 1,10,200 per sovereign and Rs 13,775 per gram on October 2.

The silver prices remain unchanged, holding steady at Rs 245 per gram (Rs 2,45,000 per kg) on October 3. Comparing this year's prices to last year's, gold has increased from Rs 86,720 per sovereign (Rs 10,840 per gram) on October 3, 2025, to Rs 1,09,400 per sovereign (Rs 13,675 per gram) on October 3, 2026. This represents a rise of Rs 22,680 per sovereign or about 26.15%.
